The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) vaccines and the relevant Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC) now recommends that all the Kovid -19 vaccines available in the US are authorized for booster shots in some population.
Six months after the final regular dose in individuals 65 years and above, and after the emergency usage Authority (EUA) of a booster shot of Fizer and Bayontech’s vaccine for high -risk adults for adults of any age, VRBPAC organized this week to review the data for modern and Johnson & Johnson.
On Thursday, the committee unanimously voted to recommend an EUA for a booster dose of modern Kovid -19 vaccine. VRBPAC indicated that modern vaccine should be given for adults even after six months of final regular doses in people aged 65 years and above and high -risk adults of severe Kovid -19.
Then on Friday, the advisory panel again unanimously voted to recommend the EUA for the second shot of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine.
This time, however, the recommendation of VRBPAC is different from the other two vaccines, stating that all adults receiving a shot of Johnson & Johnson vaccine should get a booster. This also shows that this population gets a follow -up shot for physical and modern vaccines after at least two months after early vaccination.
While VRBPAC provides guidance, its recommendations are nonbinding, and the FDA does not have to follow them.
As a next step in the EUA-processes, the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Vaccination Practice (ACIP) will be found to discuss your recommendation for the use of Covid-19 booster.
why it matters
The VRBPAC decisions are based on the data presented by modern and Johnson & Johnson, showing that the booster shots of both vaccines increased antibody reactions.
Booster Shots are becoming a major component of US Kovid -19 mitigation strategy.
Now reports indicate that more people are receiving their third dosage, as people are receiving their first. As of October 13, the weekly average of 362,000 people a day received booster shots, about 57% more than 231,000 people who started their first dose.
According to CDC data, about 9.7 million booster shots have been administered in the US to represent a population of 5.2% so far. In all, 56.8% of the population is completely vaccinated.
Huge trend
The vote follows the health study of a new-proven national institutions, suggesting that a mixture and matching of Covid-19 vaccines is safe and effective, although the findings are yet to be reviewed by colleagues.
Researchers found that those who originally receive Johnson & Johnson vaccine produced strong antibody levels after getting modern or physical booster shots. Additionally, he noticed that those who first vaccinated with fizzle or modern vaccines and either obtained the company’s booster shot produced equally strong immune responses.
In addition to booster shots, vaccination of children in the country is becoming a priority to control the epidemic. After releasing data showing low doses of Physic Vaccine, the company presented a request to the FDA last week for the EUA.
On record
“This positive recommendation is supported by data at 50 μm booster doses of our Covid-19 vaccine, which shows strong antibody reactions against the original virus, but also against the delta version,” in a statement, said Stephen Bannsale.
“We are committed to being ahead of the virus and developed after the developed epidemic of Sars-Cov-2.
