Health insurance stocks are calling sick today.
The United Health Group (UNH) drew the back of its forecasts for 2025 – Vishal shares in the news have dropped by about 23% in the afternoon operations – the group is leaving on Thursday. Many other major insurance firms joined the United Health in the list of top S&P500 declements today. Humana (we) was about 7%off. Elevance Health (ELV) fell nearly 2%, and CVS Health (CVS) slipped 1.3%.
This news was also weighed at Dow Industrial, out of which United Health is a prominent member. The Blue-Chip index was recently 0.7%below, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were slightly higher. (Read more about how Dow works here – and how to hit the index here today.)
Six of the 30 components of the dove were recently low, but only a few – ankandalth, AMGN (AMGN), and NVDA (NVDA) – more than 1%.
Some other health stocks were increasing, among them pharmaceutical giant Eli Lily (Lily), which was lifted by drug trial news.
