Taiwan Named the Happiest Country in East Asia 2025

According to Galp’s World Happiness Report 2025, Taiwan has claimed the top position as the happiest country in East Asia. The island nation is ranked globally 27th and has performed better than its neighbors, such as Japan, South Korea and China.

This year’s report analyzed 147 countries. In 2024, Taiwan came to 31st position, but this year, island defeated Singapore as East Asia’s happiest country. Finland – For the eighth consecutive time – overall ranked as the world’s happiest country.

For his report, Galp collected self-assessment from over 100,000 international participants.
